new

Two pieces I've been working on. Anyone have any input?  (I will be changing the tree in one of them so they're not the same, just need to take another picture)

  1. The circular format starts to remind me of a shrine or dedication piece. Perhaps raising nature up to a godly status through the use of alter / shrine symbolism?

  2. I got the idea from Botticelli's Madonna of the Magnificat, so I get the same sense of a godly status, or dedication piece. I don't know if I should try to play more into this idea in the piece or if it's done. Denise was telling me how the colors in both of these are a little dull compared to some other works I've done, I don't know if this is something I want to change or keep...

  3. I think the colors depend on what colors you use to sew back in and what color symbolism you wish to work with. Do you want to use a historical palette to pull from the symbolism of the dedication pieces you might be referencing? Ask yourself what the colors in your other pieces do for the work?
